MindBytes BV is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. It covers visits to this website and enquiries sent through its email links. It does not cover participation in research, use of a separate application, or a client project; those activities require their own information and arrangements.
When you visit
Your browser sends technical information needed to request and display the site. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages or files, timestamps and the referring page. Our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website is the legal basis for this processing (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You do not need to register, complete a form or provide a name to browse.
The website is published through OpenAI Sites and delivered using Cloudflare infrastructure. OpenAI and Cloudflare may process technical request information to host, deliver and protect the site. Their provider-level privacy practices are described in OpenAI’s European Privacy Policy and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. We have not added visitor analytics or advertising trackers.
When you contact us
An email link opens your own email application; it does not submit a form to this website. If you send a message, we process the contact details, message and attachments you choose to provide so that we can respond and discuss your enquiry. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering business correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), where applicable. Providing this information is voluntary, but we may be unable to answer without relevant contact details.
Messages to geert@genbytes.ai and abdullah@genbytes.ai are forwarded by Spaceship to Geert’s and Abdullah’s corresponding ISMS business mailboxes, hosted on Microsoft 365. The forwarding and email services process message content, attachments and delivery information to deliver and protect correspondence; messages are stored in the recipient mailboxes. These mailboxes are used to handle GenBytes enquiries.
Please use info@mindbytes.be for privacy requests. Please do not send patient records or sensitive health information through these general email channels.
Who receives information
Access is limited to people handling your enquiry and providers supporting hosting, security and business email. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers or competent authorities where needed for a legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. This website does not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Email handling involves Spaceship, Microsoft and the ISMS business email environment used by the named recipients. Provider information is available in Spaceship’s Privacy Policy and Microsoft’s Products and Services Data Protection Addendum.
Processing outside the European Economic Area
Hosting and delivery providers operate internationally, including in the United States. OpenAI describes using adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses for relevant international transfers. Cloudflare states that it relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered US transfers and standard contractual clauses for other relevant transfers, or if its certification ceases to apply. Their published OpenAI data processing terms and Cloudflare data processing terms describe safeguards for processing covered by those agreements.
Email delivery may also involve processing outside the EEA, including in the United States. Spaceship’s data processing terms and Microsoft’s commercial service safeguards describe standard contractual clauses for covered transfers.

How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept while we handle the enquiry and related follow-up. Where a business relationship follows, relevant records are retained for that relationship and any period needed to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The nature of the record, the purpose for keeping it and applicable limitation periods determine retention.
Technical log retention depends on the log type, the hosting service’s settings and any need to investigate security incidents. Providers’ own service records are subject to the retention criteria in their privacy notices, including service delivery, security and legal obligations. This site does not maintain a separate visitor database.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your personal data, and data portability where it applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. GenBytes does not use this website to make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Send a request to info@mindbytes.be or write to the registered office above. We normally respond within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, we will explain it within that month. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity.
You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or the supervisory authority in the EEA country where you live or work. You do not have to contact us first.

Using this website
This website introduces GenBytes’ research interests and capabilities. It does not provide medical advice, a diagnosis, treatment recommendations or an offer to supply a regulated medical product. Descriptions of research directions are not claims of clinical validation or guaranteed outcomes.
Any services or collaboration will be defined in a separate agreement. We aim to keep the information accurate and welcome corrections at info@mindbytes.be.
Content, branding and original design are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights and licences. Links to other websites are provided for context; their operators are responsible for their content and practices.
Accessibility
We aim to make the site usable with a keyboard, readable at different screen sizes and comfortable for people who prefer reduced motion. This is an ongoing design commitment, not a claim of certified accessibility conformance.
